SPAM Filtering for your mailbox

Scrubbit Version 1 - Filtering SPAM and Viruses from your Mailbox
© 2003-2006, Comware International, Inc.

Scrubbit is a server-based E-mail filtering program that examines incoming mail and "scrubs" it according to rules that you can specify. It also discards harmful attachments in E-mail that can contain viruses.

Scrubbit is used on our Santa Ynez Valley Internet mail service for hosting of domains.

Scrubbit uses a "friends" list to identify friendly senders, thereby relaxing the set of rigorous rules applied to incoming mail from strangers. It also supports a "block" list to automatically block messages from certain senders. If a message is not listed in "friends" or "blocks, it applies a set of rules that help identify the message as "wanted" or "rejected" (SPAM). For example, a questionable message containing offensive words can be automatically rejected.

Wanted messages go into your normal mailbox, but rejected messages are retained for up to a week for you to review and retrieve. You maintain your configuration, friends list, block list, and rejected messages using a web-based control panel.
